How Social Media is being misused? TIK TOK is a (sweet poison) which is poisoning the young minds


Social media has the power to revolutionize the world. In today's era it is the one of the most important means which is able to change the mentality of the society. The content (especially movies and videos) we watch puts a great impact on our mentality. Let's see an example- Why is it always believed that most of the Bollywood movies has love story and romantic songs in it? It's because from the past 20 years we have been putting this belief in our mind constantly whenever we watch such movies.This belief ( movies are romantic) limits our thinking. This is the reason why more than half of the Indian audience can't think of movies like  INCEPTION, LIFE OF PI,  TITANIC and many other science fiction movies.


 Nowadays, this responsibility of spreading misconceptions is taken by a Chinese company  TIK TOK.
It's an online platform which allows you to make short videos and reach a large number of audiences. It is very useful if someone really utilizes its power. It can be the career launch pad for someone but if it is used in negative way it can affect the society. And this is only happening since when it started especially in terms of acting. In Tik tok acting is just lip sync. Here anyone can become an overnight star, no matter their content is really good or not. Most of the videos (cringe) which are put over here mislead the public. They strongly make you believe that being beautiful, showing that you are rich is what necessary to be a star.

 If you observe that cringe you will notice that most of the video has these things in common which are
-Lip sync
-Fake smile
-Zero acting skill
-Touching hair at certain intervals -Being cute by saying nonsense  -Waving butt
-Putting lots of makeup
-Slow motion effect without which the videos are nothing.

 In any field, if a beginner wants to reach the top point  he follows the person who is at the top. He observes and follows the one who is master in it.
But the top creators of TIK TOK who have large number of followers does the same things which is mentioned above. They don't even feel the responsibility of what effect does their small video will put on the society. Last year one of the top creators of Tik tok,  Faisu was suspended due to spreading hate speech favoring a terrorist.


Last month , a case of glorifying acid attack was filed on  Faizal Siddiqui  -also a top creator of TIK TOK whose account also got suspended . He has over 13.4 million followers on tik tok . After the acid glorifying video made by him what message his followers will get?




An another misleading Tik tok video came in light after this incident happened which promotes rape culture and normalizes rape.


 What is gonna happen if this trend is gonna continue in future? Already it has affected a lot . Children who should focus on their foundation studies are making videos which is obviously gonna be cringe because they don't have the understanding of natural acting and presenting them .Small boys and girls are making relationship videos in order to get viral. This somewhere may seems to be a shortcut way to early success , all you have to is just make any nonsense video on a trending song . If you have a beautiful girl in your video no matter she doesn't know the A of acting then it is 'Cherry on the cake' .

 It is very easily accessible and usable to everyone no matter which age group you belong to. Making things easily accessible is good but you have to think widely and carefully that , Can this freedom will lead to a bad effect? Suppose you allow a small boy to spend money on whatever things, then there is 70% chance that he will misuse the money in shitty things. The remaining 30% can also use it in an effective way in some entrepreneurial works. So, some strict steps must be taken while giving this much freedom.

 Social media has the power to change the thinking of society at a greater extent . We are aware of the famous hashtags like #Metoo ,  #Covfefe ,  #TakeAknee which came  as tornadoes and threw the waste and harmful mindsets from the world  , brought a major change and helped the people who sufferered a lot through years.
Social media is a boon for everyone who wants to express themselves, to reach huge public , to spread business and many more positive outcomes which can help everyone.
